Best Buy offers gift cards for obsolete HD DVD players

Although Blu–ray won the next generation format war, it looks like HD DVD owners will get some value out of their players.

Best Buy has joined Circuit City in announcing a buyback program. The company will give a $50 gift card for each HD DVD player sold before February 23.

It is also offering trade–ins for players and disks through Best Buy’s online trade–in center, regardless of where they were bought. (Link)

At least you can get some monetary value from the now-obsolete HD DVD technology. ^_^
